Over a century of success
A global brand and the only major company with sports footwear manufacturing facilities in the United States, New Balance employs over 4,000 people worldwide and has been operating for more than 100 years.
Its Brazilian e-commerce platform was among the first to migrate to VTEX IO but was experiencing some technical issues, including bugs, instability, slow loading times, and pagespeed challenges. To address this, it was essential to implement fixes and ongoing developments, such as improving shoe size selection, ensuring the site’s responsiveness on mobile devices, and providing a customer-managed size guide during product selection.
Code optimisation and use of VTEX IO
To resolve the challenges faced, it was necessary to rewrite the entire online store code and use 100% native VTEX IO apps. We cleaned up Google Tag Manager and third-party apps, while optimising code and tags, which improved the pagespeed to an orange rating (desktop), aligning with the international e-commerce standard.
Even after delivering the project with the rewritten code, our Customer Success team continued to monitor the process closely. We provided ongoing support to the developers and management, assisting with the thorough examination of GTM and third-party tools that were directly impacting the store’s performance and pagespeed score.
Online Sales Success
Compared to the previous quarter, the brand achieved a 16% increase in revenue in the first quarter following the Go Live.
The close collaboration with New Balance post-Go Live and the use of native VTEX apps contributed significantly to the success of the project and the performance of the Brazilian e-commerce platform.
